Bezoeken tot Atjeh (A visit to Aceh)

Straits of Malacca..

Last week i spent about 4 days to visit Banda Aceh, Indonesia.. This is my first visit to Aceh and Indonesia as general..Pak Asnawi is the responsible person who brings me here for a first time..We start our journey from Penang early morning (6.00 am) and our first destination is to Kuala Lumpur (LCCT)..A massive construction was still going on at Penang International Airport, and i do think that after it finish, it could receive numbers of international plane to Penang..We are have our breakfast outside the airport (there is a Malay stall) selling local dishes..I ordered a plate of Nasi Lemak and a cup of Teh Tarik and it cost me about RM 6!!!!

Mie Goreng Khas Aceh at Lhoknga, Banda Aceh..Tasty!!

We arrive at LCCT around 9.45 am..and we directly fetch a bus to go to KL Sentral (RM 14 for two ways) and from KL Sentral we take a train to KLCC..Actually Pak Asnawi haven't been to KLCC before, so we spent some time taking photograph around KLCC..It is quite hot nowadays in Malaysia, so we plan to have our lunch early (actually not to early, but we are to hungry!!)..After we arrive at the 2nd floor of Suria KLCC, i realize that my Ringgit notes are running out!!! Damn, it spent to much to change my money into Rupiahs..Fortunately, we still having our lunch there, with only RM 13 remaining..Pak Asnawi buy a bowl of Penang Laksa and a set of chappati..this is the most memorable time with Pak Asnawi where we share our lunch together!!

Masjid Raya Baiturrahman, Banda Aceh with Hadyll (Pak Asnawi's son)

Right after we having our lunch together, we have to go back to LCCT since our flight from LCCT to Banda Aceh will be around 4 pm..After arrive at LCCT, we perform solat jamak takdim before checking in..This is actually my first international flight experience at LCCT, usually i just take international flight from Penang...There is not much problem with the Immigration or Customs for locals, but for foreign, it takes some times..So i have to wait Pak Asnawi for about 15 min before we could hanging around together again inside the airport..haha..
Arrival at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport..Tired!!

Inside the bording hall, there is Gummy store where we can try the jelly r gummy beads before buying it..so since Pak Asnawi plans to buy something to his children, we take this chance to taste all the gummy beads and pickle..haha..Flight to Banda Aceh takes about 2 hour and we arrive around 6.00 pm (Indonesian time, delay 1 hour than Malaysia)..As soon as i arrive outside the Sultan Iskandar Muda's International Airport, i can smell strong gassoline odor..(because most Indonesian still use a gassoline stove to cook)..Along the way from airport to Pak Asnawi's house (at Unsyiah campus), i was serve with panoramic view of Paddy field and village environment..

Heading back!!!

Our arrival was welcomed by Pak Asnawi's youngest son, Haniff (2 years old) and Hadyll (11 years old)..Pak Asnawi has a huge family (6 daughters and 2 sons) but only 5 were available at that time (Oya, Muna, Ida, Hadyll, Haniff)...They are so close to me and called me "Om Hazwan"..as a retreat, i buy them ice creams just to make them happy..My short visit covers a visit to Masjid Raya Banda Aceh, Kapal Apung (Tsunami historical site), Lhoknga (enjoying the beach and fried noodle), Unsyiah, Penayung..One thing i would say about their food, the food are real delicious and cheap..but if you want to bargain, the price are the same like in Malaysia..Other experience, i enjoying their Tahlil environment, kenduri etc..4 days for me is not enough and insyaallah i would pay my second visit to Banda Aceh next time...

Bukan mudah..

Bila ak dok trmenung kejap, ak trfikir bahawa bukan mudah untuk ak sampai ke tahap seperti sekarang..sperti entri-entri ak yg lepas, ak bnyk kali cakap yg ak ni bukan lah pandai sangat pun seperti org lain yg boleh petik gred bagus ms belajar..hakikatnya, ak bnyk belajar dari kesilapan..dan itu yg mematangkan ak sampai sekarang..ak memang komited dengan apa pn kerja yg ditugaskan, walaupn kerja sebagai tukang bersih pinggan (dulu merasa kerja kutip pinggan di KFC)..ak mmg sgt jeles dgn keluarga org yg mampu sbb anak-anak mereka tak perlu fikir tentang sumber kewangan, asalkn diorg nk belajar..ak pula hidup brdikari diperantauan..nk mkn nasi mesti cari duit walau kerja apa sekali pn..ak brsyukur pada Allah kerana mengurniakan ak hati yg sgt tabah walaupn ak kdg-kdg tak sanggup menanggung beban yg dtg..ak sgt menghargai ilmu yg masih kekal dlm kepala ak sbb dengan ilmu yg ada ni ak mampu hidup brdikari dan boleh cari duit walaupn tak bnyk (cukup untuk makan jek)..ak igt lagi cerita2 org bijak pandai sekarang tentang masa silam mereka ms study dl..kebanyakkan mcam pe yg pernah ak lalui (mungkin ms dulu tak ramai org yg senang)..skrg ni ak memang berasa tidak adil untuk brsaing dengan mereka dan kebetulan advantage (dari segi gred dan duit) ada pada diorg..ak hanya brbekalkan pengalaman dan pengetahuan yg tak seberapa utk brsaing..honestly, ak skrg sedang menempuh keadaan sukar (walaupn dah habis master) samada brkerja atau sambung belajar..

Interview di AMREC (Advanced Material Research Centre), Kulim

Di luar bilik sekritariat AMREC...calon-calon tengah tunggu panggilan

Di luar perkarangan Jalan 2/3 Kulim Hi-tech...AMREC is just opposite INTEL and beside MIMOS

English essay writing test...

Along the Highway BKE (Butterworth Kulim Expressway)..

I love to see it green!! (paddy field)

Interview went well..but i don't put a high hope on it..(underdogs..haha)..no, it just because the position applied for fresh graduate (as far as i concern, they only ask a degree qualification only), whilst i'm too advanced to apply that position (MSc graduates; that's what they said)..but honestly it is my first arrival to Kulim Hi-tech and i was amazed by how Kulim turns into a massive material place!! theres a lot of semiconductor factories, solar cells, computer gadgets, research centre and all based to material research!! hoopefully, insyaallah i will pay my second visit there again (it got lucky la..haha)

p/s: just went to temporary hiatus for PhD study, because money is important nowadays maa, if not tak dpt la nk kahwin tahun ni jugak!!

Finally!!!

Finally i've submitted 3 copies of my M.Sc thesis...feels like healing from all burden carried on my shoulder...I'm planning to further my studies, but in the same time, i've to think how to get more money..so that i could save some for my wedding (sponsors are welcomed!! =))..

By the way, let us pray to all the flood victims in Johor, especially in Segamat, my hometown..Mum called me this morning saying that it is the worst flood that most of Segamatians have experience..Hopefully, the city could recover from the mess resulted from the big flood..amin..

p/s: I'm taking a break for a few weeks since viva..it such a long days i haven't meet Dr. Azmin..huhu..maybe next week i will plan to go to Eng. campus and discuss about some serious things..
